I Think I Figured It Out...!

I think that one of my dcm's honestly doesn't like to take care of her kids by herself. The school that she works at closed down due to weather today. Dcb wasn't here at normal drop off time so I figured she stayed home with him...no. A little while later she shows up.

She tells me that she thought he child was going to stay home today, but her dh came into the bedroom and told her he was leaving (rolled her eyes) so she brought dcb and that she had to take her other child to preschool. You really don't have to make yourself sound better by saying you were going to keep him home because you weren't. I really don't care that he is here, she paid for him to be here, but she always says something when she brings him when she's not working-to make herself feel better, I guess.?

This is the same dcm who always brings dcb every day she has off or if there is a closing. She also nannied for her friend and her kids came here last summer. I really don't think she likes to be at home with her kids. I don't get it.

I have a dcm just like this. I have had her child here Monday through Friday since June and dcm's days off are both during that time. She always has an excuse but it would be nice to just get an honest "ya know what I just want my days off all to myself."

While I wish this little girl could spend more time with her mom (if not for any other reason but to at least get a bath... it's literally been weeks) I don't really mind anymore. I'm paid and I've bonded with her a lot.

Just wish they didn't feel the need for lame excuses.

One day this dcm did admit she took a "wellness" day..

It does bother me sometimes and I don't know why, but then I just remind myself that she does pay and it's her loss. This is my only dcp that is like this and she does other things too that I question (I swear she has munchausen syndrome, but then again she's not alone with dcb because I swear he's always at the docs when he's not here) to each their own I guess.

I have come to learn that it bothers me because I am a bit jealous. I am responsible and always open for my families regardless of if I feel like it. Now I wouldn't take a day or two every single week like some mom's do but one day every 4-6 months would be refreshing! Not to mention if my child has a snow day I would love to be home just he and I but it's never the case. It's always him and a bunch of other kids. They really have no clue how fortunate they are

Yeah imagine if we just decided to have a "mental health day" or "I don't want to deal with my kids day" every few months. It's all we can do to keep DCPs happy if we have to close for health or personal reasons yet "just because" is much different. While we chose this line of work, they also chose to be parents. I think parents also feel that since they paid they "must" use the time!
