    Family Personal/Sick Days

How do you work personal/sick days for families with more than one child? Do you give each child so many sick days or is it per family? What if one child comes but the other doesn't for some reason?

Trying to work this through in my head so that it is fair for everybody, mainly ME LOL

I had originally given my first family 5 "free" days per child per calendar year. Then when they used those days during the same month I took my unpaid vacation I quickly took them out of their new contract, as I lost too much income for one month. It cost me too much to be "nice".

            I don't discount for sick/personal days.

I give 5 days free for full times families and 3 free days for part timers but I've never quite known how to work it with families with more than one child.

I don't give any" free" days to families. My sick/personal days and vacation are already unpaid. I think that's more than fair

I get paid no matter what (except for teachers get breaks free, that is just how I do it since I love working for teachers). Anything that involves me keeping track of too many things and allows for possible conflict with the parents, I do not even start.....five free days a year is one of those things I would never do.

If you did do them, I would insist that siblings use the same days off, period.

My families pay if they come or not. I do give full time families a free week of vacation, per family, but they have to take the days consecutively. I couldn't imagine keeping track of individual days.

My families now pay no matter what, but I do have 1 family left that I do give 5 free days a year and it's 5 days total. So, if both kids don't come one day, they use 2 days. If only one child comes, they use 1. It's 5 per family, but like I said, if both kids don't come it's consider 2 free days that they use not 1.

I do not give any free days at all.... but if I did it would be per child. They pay per child plus in a few days they will be off with the other one. The only question would be do you allow them to use a siblings 5 days if needed. T

They pay me for vacations theirs and mine, sick days and holidays. Every week they pay me no matter what happened

I give one week's worth of free days, so if the child is full time, they get 5 per year (after 6 months), if they're here 2 days a week, they get 2 (etc.). I do it per child, not per family, cuz I could have 2 kids from the same family with different schedules.

Whether a child has a sibling or not, each individual child fills a space. Each space is entitled to whatever perks the other spaces get.

                            Hope that makes sense.

The ONLY reason I would do things differently is if you offer sibling discounts and/or require the family to keep both kids home if only one is sick.
