What Do The Kids Do While You're Preparing Meals?

Not my proudest moment, but that is their daily screen time. We watch a 30 min episode of typically an educational show (preschool prep, leapfrog, magic school bus) or once in a while something fun. They sit at the table and watch while I prep.

During lunch prep, I have everyone upstairs in my kitchen/living room area, it is all one open area. Sometimes they color or do a quick project at the table, but usually they play "school" together or go to the "library". I have a 12 month old that is a big handful most days (cries when I am not holding her). She is used to screen time, so once and a while for my sanity I will turn on the TV, usually Daniel Tiger or Super Why, Magic School Bus during this time. Otherwise the only screen time is when they just get there before breakfast, but even that has been dwindling as they get to know each other and learn to play different games.
