I have a dcb that is 2 yrs old and driving me nuts on drop offs and pickups. I also have his 6 month old brother. It started when he refused to walk to the car and having mom carry him and also the carseat with the baby in it. She carries both of them out to the car at the same time. I told her she's going to have to break him of that before the snow and ice comes because she's going to wipe out. Then a few times he walks himself, but proceeds to run out of my garage and around to the front of the house to the front porch. Then he won't put his shoes on, his coat on etc. So, now I have him 100% dressed and ready to go 5 minutes before mom comes, so at least we don't have that battle anymore as far as shoes and coat goes. Dad brings him in the morning and the last couple of times dad knocks at the door and he's got the baby in the carseat and 2 yr old is standing out by the car yelling and crying. UGH! I know what dad and mom need to do, but they won't do it. Wednesday he came and dad was frazzled as this child gave him such a hard time yelling and crying and not wanting dad to leave blah blah blah. Mom says that night at pickup they think it's because he's so rushed in the morning getting him up, dressing, diaper, eating etc that it's too chaotic for the dcb could he start eating breakfast here. Maybe that would help. I said, I have no problem giving him cereal, but I can tell you that's not going to fix this. He's just going to find something else to be a problem about. Maybe because everything he's doing is working for him. He doesn't want to walk,, so he cries and throws a fit, so what do they do, they carry him. How do you get through to people like that?

Dear dcm and dcd,
The last several weeks, months etc have become extremely difficult at drop off and pick up. From now on, xyz (insert yr game plan ). I appreciate your understanding in this. My goal is to have a lot less issues every morning and afternoon and if this doesn't work in one month, we will think of another plan.
Thanks,
Dcp- Flag
