Bath Product Storage

I was just curious to find out if it's ok to store things like shampoo on the top shelf of our shower/bath. Right now we have a basket that we get out every time one of us needs something for a shower and were so tired of hailing it out multiple times per day. The shelf is about 5 1/2 feet or so from the bottom of the tub. I'm located in Kansas. Thanks!

I don't know about Kansas but here in NY I have been told that we can't have anything on the actual shower shelves. We have one of those units that hangs from the actual shower head and that has been acceptable.
