I'm full with full and part time kids. I'm in MI and make about $2000/month before any deductions. Not as much as I should be making if I were a better business person and less of a softhearted (read pushover) one!

I am in Iowa and the rates here range from $100-$220.00 a week for one child. I am at $130.00/wk. for one child.

I make around 2k a month, used to do around 4, but daycare has really gone down around here(wyoming!)

Right now I make $325/week on 3 families (4 kids)..$125/week for my full time 2 year old, $100/week on 2 before/after school girls, $100/week on a part day M-F boy. So on a 4 week period= $1300

That really isn't much after I buy the food (not on food program) and craft supplies and other daycare related products.

But I chose to keep it small this year, I have had several other offers in the past month..just got another call this week! It is so tempting to make more, but I have 4 girls that really need my attention for school work/sports...plus I wish to volunteer a few times in my younger 2 girls school class, if I add more, it would be too much on my mom that takes over for me while I do this.

I am thankful that my husband makes ok money for our area, we still pinch at times, like right now because there is so much going out this time of year (school clothes for 4 girls!, school pictures, cheerleading stuff, $400 worth of tires for my van), and it's times like this I wish I would take in more, but sometimes I have to talk myself out of it and remember that my girls need me and I have enough chaos with the daycare kids I have now.

I am a registered member, but with this info I didn't want to sign in. I make about $1700/month after paying my part time assistant ($.50/hr over minimum wage) and building rent, but didn't count any other costs of owning a daycare. I have 11 kids, but only 4 full time children, the rest are part timers (2-4 days a week). On average I have 8 children each day (Only one day a week do I have all 11).

After reading these rates.....I either need to move to another state or find a different job. Our rates here are terrible.

What stinks is my rates are in line with other providers I know, the centers are a little higher than the home daycares.

I know how you feel...it makes me sick knowing that I could make OOODLES more if I were 40 miles north from where I am.
