    Downpour Just Before Outside Time

SO. Two minute downpour at 4:30, just before we're supposed to head outside. Everything is drenched.

No one has rain gear here, of course. Most of my parents would look at me cross eyed if I asked for it. Which I have. "Do what with the what now?" would pretty much be the response.

    Skip outside time, right?

    yep.

Maybe if you are lucky, they'll all go home with so much pent up energy....the parents will understand WHY you have repeatedly asked for certain clothing items....

Pssh...even if I asked for rain gear, which I haven't in a long time, I would only get MAYBE a water resistant jacket. No one in my area ever has anything along the lines of the rain pants other people on here have mentioned. They just do NOT exist in my area. waterproof pants and boots are the big things i'd need today.

Or feeling comfortable with sending the kids home soaking wet...which I don't.

Come to think of it, it's probably disgustingly humid outside just now...which makes me really glad to have the excuse not to go out.

This summer has been glorious, not too hot, not very humid...until yesterday and today. This morning it was only in the low 80s when we were out and it was so humid I thought it felt like low 90s!

Ugh, it's been EXTREMELY hot here lately! High humidity... foggy dense air that is hard to breath in... HOT and HUMID.

To make things worse, DH decided to paint the daycare house last week and this week. He started when it was cooler. But now, I seriously think the paint is still wet from yesterday because it is so humid.

Then my AC quit working on the absolutely HOTTEST day.... we replaced it (at $450 ) and everyone has been inside now for about 6 days. They are so stir crazy that I am starting to question my own sanity...

I think you should definitely stay inside. It's cooler there.

Yes, we get out in 15-20 min increments through the day, and luckily I have a roofed porch with a kitchen and some blocks so it is hot, but out of the sun. It is nasty out there. UGH!!
We have done some water play, sprinklers and wading pool, but even that doesn't last long.
            Stinks about your air..yuccky!
