So, was she giving it to them to make them drowsy, or was it accidental?

I wish they would say the name of the product so I could make sure I don't have any I the house. I have heard that Visine will give a person bad diarrhea if ingested.

Wow, I thought it was going to be another Benadryl doping like the one a few months ago from Morgan Hill. Not that that is any better but eye drops are seriously dangerous! I used too much one time (but otherwise took it as directed) one night because I had bad eye strain and woke up in the middle of the night with some serious chest pains and breathing issues, I thought I was having a heart attack.

I don't think the brand matters, they are all pretty much made of the same stuff. There are people that would intentionally put eye drops in people's drinks because they thought all it would do is give them diarrhea but it can actually kill you.

I think there was also an episode of '1000 Ways to Die' (based on real events and real deaths) where a guy was either invited to or crashed his ex girlfriends wedding and tried to embarrass her by putting eye drops in her wine so she would cr@p herself in front of everyone, but somehow he wound up drinking from the poisoned glass instead and not only did he have the runs but he also died because his heart stopped.

But it can still be dangerous even if you use it for its intended purposes.

Wow! I feel terrible when I have to give my DCKs something from a can or box and I don't administer meds! What a terrible person! Those are highly dangerously drops to ingest! Why would you even think thats a good idea unless you want to see them hurt

So, I did some further digging into this...

The one child who had been brought to the hospital twice with the same symptoms was the son of a friend of the DC provider. At the time of the incidents, the DC provider was living with the friend and was not operating a home DC. These two women are still friends on facebook - I don't know about you, but if someone deliberately doped my kid, you better believe I wouldn't keep that person as a facebook friend

DC provider has three sons of her own and had the same common-law partner for over a decade - who claims that the DC provider had long-term mental issues and was often using prescription meds including serious painkillers (oxycotin).

DC provider had cancer and several surgeries to fight the cancer.

DC provder did look really rough in her media mugshot, but looking through her facebook photos she was a pretty normal, decent looking woman.

Some eye drops contain ketotifen which is an antihistamine, which can cause drowsiness in kids.

You are good... real good. I have been racking my brain TRYING to figure out what eye drops cause drowsiness. Why would you give that when benadryl liquid is so cheap? I can't imagine wrasslin a kid to do eyedrops when otc liquid benadryl is tasty and cheap.

                Still friends? What?!

I did just see one article that said "former" DCP but everything else made it sound that she was actively running one.

I remember that case So terrible, didn't she have a nursing (or similar) background too? I remember the news quoting her saying something along the lines of she thought it was fine for kids because it was ok for her (in reference to her own kids I believe but either way she was framing its a ridiculous comment). Is she out by now? I remember hearing she only had to serve like 5 years.
