    Rude School Mom's

I NEVER take my daycare kids anywhere...I think we have been out 3-4 times over the past 18 months and today I only had 2 kids, it was nice out so I decided we would go to the park for lunch today.

We were sitting at the park picnic table and about half way done eating when a couple busses pulled up as well as several cars containing parents.

They FLOODED the area where the tables were and the next thing I know, a parent is rolling out paper onto the table we were sitting at...right over the top of our food!!!

I was so upset that I just packed up what we had left and loaded the kids into the car. I'd already decided we would not stay to play because there would have been way too many kids there to keep track of my dck's...but we couldn't even finish our lunch.

That is incredibly rude! I can't believe someone would do that.

Did she know that you guys were not a part of their group???? That seems so RUDE!!

I would have been tempted to smear my food all over the fresh paper she had just laid out (tempted but not sure I would actually do it).
BUT to prove my point I would have immediately started to grab and crinkle up the paper into a big ball and taken it off of MY FOOD and told her "UM, WE ARE SITTING HERE AND WE ARE NOT DONE! YOU CAN HAVE OUR TABLE WHEN WE ARE FINISHED WITH IT!!" and then openly had a special lesson with the DCK's about manners and being polite and asking before we took over something.

I am wayyyy too in your face to not have said something. That is beyond rude!

"excuse me, Ma'am, we are eating here. If you could give us another 10 minutes, we will move so you can have the table."

"See dck's, even grown ups need reminders to use their manners and ask for things."

I would have fed that lady the exact same verbage I feed my DCK's and expect them to use with each other.

"NO THANK YOU. I will let you know when I am done." Knowing my older DCK's, that lady would have gotten the stinkeye from them as they said the same thing LOL!

That is not in your face, that is the right thing to do. First, the a-hole that did this NEEDS a set-down, and second, the kids need to see that bullies don't win. I'm sure that the person spreading out that paper laughed and bragged about how she got rid of you and your kids (I know people like that-ugh!).

"excuse me, Ma'am, we are eating here. If you could give us another 10 minutes, we will move so you can have the table." ...this is EXACTLY what needs to be said!

Are you sure you're not in Jersey? That wouldn't surprise me in the least around here.

I wonder if it's possible they had the pavilion reserved but it is up to the Park Ranger to handle this tactfully, not someone acting like a 2 year old.

It's possible they had it reserved. STILL.....spreading paper over their food? Inexcusable! How difficult would it have been to say, "excuse me--we've reserved this area, so when you're finished, we'll need this table"?

Wow! That was incredibly rude. I can't imagine any situation that would justify her doing that to you. If the table had been reserved, she could have, at the very least, explained that to you and asked politely if you could move. There's no excuse for her actions. Depending on your school district, if you thought it would do any good, I might consider calling the school superintendent or a member of the school committee to let them know what happened so they could maybe address it.

I call people SIR or Ma'am when I'm annoyed, as I hate it also! The younger the person, the better results too! LOL!!! ::
