    Licensing visit...Sacramento County/state of California

This question is primarily for Sacramento/State of California Providers...how frequently are you receiving unannounced licensing visits? My worker informed me she would now be conducting yearly visits. Is this the norm now??

It could be, if they have the manpower then its not unheard of. I'm in southern CA and my region is understaffed. Licensing is required to make unnanounced inspections every 3 years minimum but they do it more like every 5 years. I was due for one in March but so far nothing in the last 3 years. I heard of a provider that waited 7 years before her next visit and another that got a visit and then a month later her name came up again (the second visit was shorter since the licensor had just been there but still had to take a quick look around).

I'm also in SoCal. I had an inspection last summer, but neither of my neighbors who were licensed about the same time I was were inspected.

Before, I went over 5 years, then the analyst called to see if I was still in business. Basically, she warned me that she was coming.
