How many of you take off the whole Christmas break? I'm thinking of doing Dec 25th (A Wed) through Jan 1st. I do take days off through out the year but not a lot, it's more like a Friday here and there for appointments. Do you think that is too much? Plus I'm thinking of cutting my daycare kids, I was hoping for Sept. but I think it's going to be more like Jan now, which ****s because I REALLY need to reduce.

I'm like you, I may take a Friday off here and there, but for the most part I am open.- Flag

I always take one week vacation at Christmas and pad it with the holidays and any leftover personal days. Last year it was a week and a half. This year I've decided not to take the whole time off because we have no plans to go anywhere and I remember being boredbut if you have the time and want to, go for it!

I am taking Dec. 23 thru Jan. 1. I have mostly teachers' kids though, so this works well for all my parents. I really dislike that "one day at the beginning of the week and one day at the end", so I made a schedule change this year and I am already looking forward to it!- Flag

Thanks, I think I'll for sure do this then. I don't think any of my families will have issues with it but I still always feel guilty doing it. It will be unpaid for me which sticks except for Christmas and Years Day, but that's better than nothing. Thanks for helping me not feel guilty.)- Flag

I do it differently year to year, just depending on our plans.
This year I will be open Monday the 23rd, and closed Tuesday-Friday(24th-27th). I am always closed on weekends. I will be open Monday(30th), closed Tuesday & Wednesday(31st and 1st) and then back to normal on Thursday.
My families will either send their kids, use free days (if they have any left), or pay for the Mondays that I am open.- Flag

I give my clients the option of 1 vacation week free each year after they have been enrolled for 6 months. They are allowed to use their 5 days they don't have to pay during my paid vacation if they wish to. My paid vacation (the long one) is 8 days long so they would only have to pay for 3. None have chosen this and as of right now, only ONE family used the vacation credit and they were only here for 9 months.- Flag
