What Do You Do About Crib Pickers?

My toddlers sleep in portable cribs that have mesh sides. Lately, two of the kids have started sticking their fingers through the tiny holes and making them bigger and bigger and bigger... I sew the holes closed, but it makes the cribes look ratty. Does anyone else have this problem? Suggestions on how you stopped "The Pickers"?

I put them on cots. =-)

I just keep sewing them. There is no way I will deal with putting an 8 mo old on a cot, or a 14 mo old on a cot. They simply don't make things to last anymore.

maybe put a towel/ blanket over the side with the holes, to hide them?
