I set up an interview for a new dcb at 6:30...the time my last child was going to be leaving. I close at 5:30 but they need care until 6:30 only on Fridays.

New family arrived on time and we are going over the policy at 7 pm...when the current client shows up to get her child.

I already accomodate her by keeping the child an hour past my closing time on Fridays without any additional fees...and then she shows up another half hour late. That was an hour and a half PAST my closing time.

So guess who had to be confronted with late pick up fees right in front of the new client!!! happyfacehappyfacehappyfacehappyfacehappyfacehappyface

Actually I've decided I'm no longer going to do it. This was not agreed upon when the child originally started and especially since it's Friday and by then I'm just ready for my work week, not just the day, to be over with...she can either accept these terms and make other arrangements for Fridays or she can find someone else.

The ONLY reason I have kept this family as long as I have is because it's my only little girl (other than a SA girl) and I absolutely love her as if she were my own granddaughter (who lives 1000 miles away).

If this had been anybody else, this family would have been gone long, long ago.

I couldn't do it. Especially on Friday. Let us know how the situation works out...hopefully they will figure out an alternative to your working so late. Sometimes when you put your foot down, suddenly other options openup for dcp.
