    Help With Term Letter

    Silly Question:
Should I put Dear (parent first & last name) Or Dear Parents of (dcb's name)?

Also, since I am terming because I can't provide the level of care he needs and for the safety of the group should I put that I can't meet his needs or just leave out?

    Thanks in advance

I just put the parent's first names, no "dear". For example:

    John and Julia,

This notice is to inform you that as of April 1 2013, our contract for childcare services will be considered null and void. I feel that I am not able to adequately provide the level of care that little Johnny requires at this time.
I have enjoyed my time with Johnny over the past 7 months and wish your family all best in the future.

    Regards,
    Me

I also always add a blurb that all policies in our contract are in full affect until the date I provide that care will end - and that any disregard for those policies will result in an immediate termination with no reimbursement of fees.

      Dear (parents name):

This letter will serve as notice for termination of care effective (last date of care). Best of luck in your search for new care.

      Thank you

I don't even give a reason in the letter. If they ask I would just say that you feel that it is in everyones best interest to part ways and leave it at that.

From experience, anything more than that causes trouble.
