    Refinishing A White Board?

Has anyone tried to do this? I know they have white board paint now. I have a large room divider that is a magnetic white board on one side and a felt board on the other. The white board has had it. It doesn't erase very well anymore. I have used the cleaner on it and it will usually take most of the marker off but as soon as I write on it again it won't erase. So I'm thinking of getting a can of the white board spray paint and repainting it. Curious if anyone has tried this and whether it will work or not.

BTW - this is what I have. I got it with money from a grant and hate to get rid of it because of how much we use it. http://www.kaplanco.com/store/trans/...%7C0&PID=31916

Op. I have not used this product but had thought about it when we first started renting this plqce becuase the 4x8 whiteboard was so shot. We got lucky and the local lumberyard sold us a piece of laminated wood (white...used for cheap whiteboards) and we glued it right over top of the old one with some tough as nails or something like that (comes ina tube for a caulk gun). To make sure this didnt happen again...i do not use whiteboard markers. WE only use white board crayons. I know you can buy bulk boxes of these from places like kaplan as well. So far i just use crayola. The kids love to color on the board and we too use it a lot. The crayons rock because they wipe off of walls with a wet rag really easy. We use them to draw on our tiles (roads or numbers or whatever we need for an activity) and we can write on our light table without fear as well without any need for chemicals to erase. We do have a spray bottle of 1 tsp bleach in a quart sprayer that the kids can reach and will use to spray board if they colored too hard and it doesnt want to come off without muscles! So anyways...if the product doesnt work...have your local lumber yard cut you a piece to either replace or cover your old white board. It cost us 20$ because of a small scuff in the corner ( and again..this was a 4' x 8' board).

You could cover it with contact paper (like you use to line shelves in your kitchen). Works great with dry erase markers.

We have an 8ft by 4ft piece of shower board. I think we bought it for $20 and hung it on the wall. I love it! You can buy it at a hardware store like Menards, Lowes, and Home Depot.

It might be similar to a pp's laminated wood.
