    All Knowing BC....

Is there anything out there published right now about Parent Aware ratings possibly being linked to CCAP participation?

I have providers up my butt claiming I'm a big fat liar that that's ever been discussed by anyone

I am not BC but I noticed that youtube has a channel just for "Parent Aware Ratings" in minnesota...

      Seems a pretty hot topic.

Our flavor of the day ratings system was getting out of hand as well... thank goodness for the budget cuts. All we hear is crickets, now.... ::

Ooooor, I could just send the fanatic your name......

She's on that facebook group and swears she's in Parent Aware and nothing like that has ever been said nor will EVER come to pass.

She's a bit miffed that I merely asked if anyone else had heard anything about the connectoin, as if it's some saintly program that could NEVER have an ulterior motive :P

              Child Care Assistance Program

              Subsidy

The same thing they did to us last year. Reimbursement rates were based on "Quality Rating". Quality Rating Scores were effected by willingness to take subsidy and paying for non-transferable "college" classes offered by the very people who inspected us.

Many dropped their licensing and operate illegally. Others dropped their federally funded preschools and only take private pay. Many just closed entirely.

Now that makes me curious, do other states require participation in assistance programs to be eligible for full star status?

My screen froze and locked... I added to the post above during that time.

It all centered around the buzzwords "Quality" "Affordable" and "Early Education"

The discussion started as "Child Care" but is now heading into Universal Preschool by age 3, now....

I have heard our state is thinking about it.

It will be you have to participate in the rating system and your pay will depend on how high your stars are.

The ratings are already mandatory, here... but as soon as we started to panick, the budget fell through. We are just stagnant, now and the inspectors don't know which direction we are heading in.

Mine said just keep my training up, my parents happy and my head down. lovethis I love her so much.

Page 1...... points are again awarded for giving out info for the CCAP program
Page 2.....points are given if you help parents apply for CCAP help

Prioritizes providers serving at-risk children and families (in other words, families using CCAP)

                          Page 7

A PA goal: How to link early childhood funding to a QRIS

This entire document has little clues, hints and references that basically tell you that providers who serve families using CCAP will receive grants, assistance and a higher level of rating.

                          ***********************************************************
One of the BIGGEST things they are pushing with Parent Aware is the necessity of family and community relations and in order to lure providers into participating in this QRIS process is to award them grants.

Part of every grant application is a question that asks if you have any children in care who receive funding from CCAP. (priority in receiving a grant requires serving families receiving CCAP)

Another link is the fact that points are awarded to providers based on certain criteria. The number of points a provider receives dictates how many stars their program will get. You get points for serving families on CCAP.

How anyone does NOT see the connection is beyond me.

However, I do have it somewhere in writing that CCAP and Parent Aware are directly connect so when I find it, I will post it.

Your FB friend who is insulted at the notion of the connection is further cementing the fact that it IS just by her reaction to your question.

I have an e-mail somewhere too from my PA trainer/coach telling me that I won't qualify for the Building Quality grant they are awarding for participating in PA unless I have atleast one family using CCAP.

Not here in NC. Our star rating has nothing to do with whether we participate in assistance programs. It is strictly based on our program and our education. I was not registered to accept state subsidy and was a 5 star facility before I closed down. Now our reimbursement rates for any of those assistance programs are determined by how many stars you have and you can't get any reimbursement if you are less than 3 stars.

So the reimbursement rate you receive is directly dependent on how many stars you have?

That has everything to do with each other then...
