    I don't take two weeks although my husband has been begging me to for years. I just feel too quilty.

    For ME I do vacations Sept to Sept as I have teacher kids here. So I work my vacation the same way, based on the school calendar. If I ended up making my husband happy and taking a week in Dec and a week in Jan that would be two weeks in one school year.

    And I give them notice in June for my August vac. Although they will forget by then anyway!

      YOU pick your dates and let them worry about alternate care arrangements. As long as you are giving them enough notice, they have time to plan.
