When you charge and collect late fees, does that money go into the daycare income or does it go to the staff person who waited with the child?
Late Fees to Business or Individual?

Welcome to the forum!
I don't have employees so any late fees I collect go right into my pocket. I do have to count it as income though.
I am sure there will be someone on the board that will be able to answer your question.- Flag

I have thought about this for when I have an assistant who will run things while I'm on maternity leave. I will let that assistant keep the money from late fees if they are the one to stay late. It seems only fair to me.- Flag

One time, it was closing and a daycare parent was running late (he called to let the provider know he was running late) so the provider asked me to stay late because she was running late for some plans she made and told me to just write down when I left and she also arranged for him to give me a ride home because we both lived on the other side of town and I didn't have a car (I usually took the bus).
Anyway, it was almost a 1/2 hour after closing time when he picked her up and when he brought me home he gave me $5 for staying late with her (I said it was okay, but he insisted). And the next day at work, since he payed me the difference, I just put down the closing time for the end of my hours because he pretty much already paid me what I would make in a 1/2 hour.

When I worked in a centre the money went directly to me. I'd order in a pizza for my husband and my dinner (pre kids) and say "thanks to Mark's mum for being late tonight"
EDIT to add that our late fees were very high so a 30 minute late pickup was 30$ - I've had a mum go home from work and lie down before picking her child up and fall asleep. I'd phone and it would ring and ring. After an hour we were to phone CS so she was lucky I finally woke her up after 45 minutes. At that point it was a quarter to 7 so I was not impressed.- Flag
