    W2 for Employee

I recently was told that I can't use a pen on a paper w2 I picked up in town because I need to have a certain printer or typewriter? So I was told to go online and register with my EIN and do it that way. Can you give me the website of where I do this and if it is the irs.gov site front page w2 link, that is 11 pages long. Must I type the same thing over and over again with just one employee?

Do I need to do anything with a w3?

    W-2 and W-3

Yes, you cannot file out these forms by hand. They must be typed. (what a pain)

Yes, you must type the same info over and over, even for one employee.

You do need to file W-3. That's the form that gets sent to Social Security to report on how much you withheld and paid for Social Security taxes for this employee.

I decided to go to a tax place and they only charged $10 to setup my W2 and the lady was so kind to help me by printing the papers that were due today so hope I didn't mess up! She said my state taxes were due in February and told me to come back for that. I didn't realise that social security, medicare, and federal withholdings were all combined and sent in one check. That makes things easier to understand.
