    Help Pls...My 20mo Old Poops Alot

    Is this normal, my 20 month old poops all day...like 6plus times!

    Any advice?

    for some people yes it is normal. What you worry about is if it is too soft of too hard

      I thought this too. But, allergy comes to mind here, maybe a Lactose intolerance.

      Also, Soy milk will cause the child to go several times a day and will cause gas too.

        I had one that did that till they were 3!

        Figured out eating way, way to much fruit.
        Each day is a fresh start

          Thanks yall,


          its not hard...but is soft...but not running either. He does eat fruit every day...and anything else you put on his plate.

          He has a total of 16oz of 2% milk a day "breakfast, lunch, dinner (we can't handle whole milk around here.)

          I will make a call to the doctor in the am...just to be safe.

            does it smell strange? My now 19 year old had issues with processing the sugars from fruit and would have very strange smelling stool. I have had one other child in dc with the same issue.

            Also if he isn't completely expelling his stool he may be nearing toilet training readiness and is holding it in when he realises he is going which would be cause for more partial dirty diapers.
