DCB has been with us for 2 months and payment hasn't been a big issue. Have had remind them one time. More than I would like, but not horrible either.
He comes W/TH/F, so even though traditional payment day is Monday, they have been bringing payment on heir first day of the week. Was meaning to correct that... Eventually.
So Wednesday rolls around, and DCM texts and says he won't be in today - he is having tests done (DCB has medical issues). Thursday rolls around and no check at drop off. DCD comes to pick up and we ask for payment - he says he doesn't have his wallet (ummm, yeah right). Mom texts and says "I'm sorry. I thought DCD talked with you last week. Could we set up payments to be made on the 1st and 15th when we get paid". I responded with something along the lines of "yea, but on the 1st, you need to pay for every week that begins before the next payment is due (and I lined out a very specific schedule as to not get these payments confused). And ended with "so tomorrow will just be $xx.00 due and then we will start the new schedule next week".
Obviously they were thinking that they would be able to pay for this week, on the 15th. Which would never be allowed. But clearly, I can see they are trying to pull a little something.
This morning, I was super anxious about having to turn her away if she had any excuse for not having payment. She handed me a check, I put it in the payment box - look at it after she left - and it is dated for tomorrow !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Called my friend/other local daycare provider/vent buddy. She used to work at banks and told us that OK doesn't acknowledge post dated checks and if you have the check, you can deposit it. Also, she said you can confirm funds over the phone. I had no idea about any of this - because this is a non-issue at our daycare. Haven't had someone try this since we were new and had no backbone.
Bank won't confirm funds unless you are a client. Have the check ready for DCD to correct as soon as he picks up (1:00). Obviously no excuse will work, just askin him to correct the check and initial it.
Very curious to see what happens. I am also frustrated, I have enough to think about/ worry about/ do in a day - I don't need anything else complicated. Also, not a big fan of someone thinking they can pull the wool owe my eyes. Of finances are that tight, say something instead of trying to deceive us.
