    Ricki Lake Today

If anyone watches/records Ricki Lake, its about daycare today. Thought I would share. I record it, and usually only watch 1 episode a week because they don't usually interest me.

its on right now, its about a child shaken at daycare, why don't they ever do the good things that happen at daycare, or how children really are at daycare.

Agreed. It's always bad stuff, but I guess that is what sells advertising.

The first story is so sad, I've never seen a story about a baby that was shaken and what happened when they grow up.

The Dad in this story is really bashing home daycares, which is a shame, because I know a lot of people already look down on them.

I don't usually watch this show but I tuned in to see what was up. I can't even watch it anymore. Its making me feel like they're saying all daycare/nannies are out to take advantage of the parents and you need to be constantly "stalking" your provider/nanny's business or they will slack off and endanger your child or take advantage of the parents.

Yes there are some terrible nannies/providers but where's the bright side? the great nannies and providers? I guess the show's not over so maybe they'll do that

so I watched it off and on. The one lady was so dumb, she went thru 6 nannies, but every nanny she hired was some college age kid and she would do checks on them afterwards. And I have a feeling that she wasn't home much either.

the nanny cams hit a nerve with me. If you don't trust your nanny then why did you hire them.

To me, these type of shows are made for two reasons:

                  1. Fear sells. It brings up ratings and revenue.

                  2. Too make SAHMS feel vindicated by saying, " See, I told you daycares are bad. I love my kids and that's why they are not in daycare. Which of course implies that anyone who does use daycare (in home or center) don't have their child(ren)s best interest at heart and are selfish.

I also agree that we should start a letter writing campaign asking for positive stories.
