When to give out presents?

So, I'm just wondering how everyone else does it?

Do you give your DCK"s their presents and have them open them in front of you? or let them take them home? A few days before Christmas or the last day they are with you?

I've always sent them home, but I miss seeing their faces when they realize what I got them is that selfish?

I was late this year and just got their presents, but I only have one boy here. The rest come back on Dec 27th. Just wondering if I should have him open it where I can see his joy?

I always wait til after Christmas, after 'Santa comes.' I like to pretend that Santa brought them to my house and filled their stockings while they were away.

I also let the kids open it at my house. 1- They don't like waiting to get home to do it. 2-I like watching their reaction and I take pics as memories and for parents.

I always have a little party the last day they're all here. This year we finished our parent gifts, made reindeer food, had cookies and opened gifts.
