Would You Send A Reminder Text

I have one set of parents that the mom comes to pick her up and last time she forgot that it was the day to pay me... I really don't know how she forgot since she got paid that same day, but anyway, I let her pay me Sunday at church that time.

Well today is payday again... I was wondering would it be rude if I sent her a friendly message to ask her not to forget to pay me today. I really hate to have to remind her but with her planning her wedding and all she seems forgetful! I really need the money before the weekend, since Christmas is around the corner.. and I have bills due...

    How would you word it?

    Thanks ladies.

Personally I don't "babysit" parents but I understand where you are coming from with it being Christmas vacation and all.

I would send her a text saying "Hi Mary, just want to let you know today is payday. Your balance due is $_____. Thanks, see you at pick-up time"

    Nothing wrong with that.

I wouldn't feel bad as having to ask for your paycheck is rediculous no matter what a parent has going on in their life.

In the future, you should have a late fee that is steep enough that it FORCES parents to remember exactly when pay day is.

ITA, nothing wrong with a little reminder. Something like " dont forget its payday! I hate having to remind parents but I have become used to it!

Was the last pay period the only time she forgot or is it a habit? I would send a text saying that you're sending the reminder because it is the holiday and you won't be available for people to run a check back. If she does forget, I would tell her that she can run home and get it and bring it back within the 1/2 an hour.

I charge late fees, that's my reminder. $10 a day. I have it in my contract and handbook.

Tuition is due by pickup on the Friday before the week of care. If not received on Friday before there is a $10 a day late fee till paid in full (+fees).

If you live on a budget as we do I need to know how much I'm getting and when. You can make plans, pay bills other wise. It's annoying and just how many trips to the bank must I make?! I have better stuff to do.

I'm very absent minded and I tell my DCF's that in the begining. I love texts reminding me of schedule changes! I can't get anyone to tell me in writing like I asked so least they can do is text it to me!!
