You've Only Been Gone For 2 Days!!!

My normally sweet, but slightly sassy, baby has been a hot mess this morning. Put her in the highchair for "breakfast" and she freaked-full on blood curdling scream, banging on the tray, every puff was flung and the sippy ended up under the table. Yeesh! (She's 10 months btw)

She is currently sleeping after having a screaming fit over that to.

Monday's aren't EVER this bad! No temp, no red gums, no idea. Hoping she's better after a nap. Unfortunately it's pouring outside so a walk is not on the schedule today.

No ear grabbing yet but it's def a possibility. She woke up from her 1st nap a little fussy but better, already down for nap #2. Looks like a 3 nap day today. She's my only today so unless she runs a fever or is inconsolable I'll just love on her and do what I can.

Not writing off the possibility of an ear infection yet, BUT when grandma called earlier to see how she was she (gma) informed me that baby went to bed at midnight & got up at 6am.

I will say after nap #2 baby was MUCH more like herself.

A child who has no schedule and 4 different caregivers

Thankfully I'm her main caregiver so there is SOME consistency/schedule. Not to say every child needs a schedule (some are totally fine w/whatever happens-I've got one of those too) but this child has gone from velcro baby, scream all the time, can't leave her slight to using sign language, actually playing, and coming to me when she needs a snuggle instead of screaming bloody murder from 5 feet away like she's being eaten by a t-rex. That tells me she needs a schedule/consistency. Now, if I could just convince everybody else

I had to come back to this thread.

Baby was gone over the holiday & came to dc this past Friday (28th). She wasn't acting "right" but I couldn't pin point it & no fever. She slept for 2 solid hours (unheard of for her) and had no interest in playing after she got up (she's my tiny tornado). I took her temp after she had been up for awhile, 99.4 hmmmmm. 20 min later she's crying intermittently, glassy eyed, lethargic-take temp again 103.9 Call mom at work.

Grandma picks up, baby sees Dr. Diagnosis, double ear infection.

Holy crap! Good for you for being diligent to take care of the child's health. Obviously the parents & grandparents suspected a problem or the grandma wouldn't have been calling you. What's up with the 4 caregivers? Yikes! And no schedule? You're a treasure for helping out this family! I don't think I would have accepted them into care from what you've described.
