What A Difference One Child Makes & Being Lazy

    Wow!
One little girl was out yesterday, and again today. I feel so relaxed. I have no one following me through the house asking me about everything I'm doing. Moving and squirming constantly. Etc. She is actually not a bad little girl. She is just busy! Because of her absence, I feel like I am on vaction. This has resulted in me doing nothing but drinking coffee and playing on the internet for 2 days straight. I almost feel bad, but the other kids are content, playing dressup, watching TV, doing whatever kids do when they play together. I will get back to lesson plans next week... I just needed this break... She'll be back Monday

It is amazing how the dynamic can change with just one kid added or removed from the group.

I have a mean bratty 4yo dcb and when ever his mom calls him off sick I find myslef dancing a jig.

Ihave one that is also a busy body. They often have to get pulled out of the room to calm themselves down. When that happens I hear waterfalls and waves breaking.... Ok maybe that's taking it a little too far, but it changes the whole dynamics of the dc room...

gald you had a nice break....

yes I agree. I have had to let a few part timers go due to pregnancy issues and just one kid in particular being gone has been like a breath of fresh air. in my case, it has been such a relief, that I am not even going to take her back after maternity leave. same issue as yours but magnified....3.5 and constantly following me around and asking questions and complaining and never really playing independently or doing anything happily.
