    Silly Question

So I have been interviewing and have found a few people I really like.

I was thinking about how I will be able to conduct my lunch breaks.

So basically, if my capacity goes above 6, I need to have two adults here. This means that I can not let this person leave my house for lunch, other wise I will be out of my ratios. Also, I will have to pay this person to sit and do nothing, while the kids nap. This is when I do all of my paperwork, curriculum on the computer and basically work they cannot do. and of course sit and talk to you guys

I have thought about hiring two people and splitting my shifts to a morning shift and an after noon shift. I only need help 3 days a week and for about 7.5 hours each day??

any advice on how I can work this out??

Haven't seen her all day I don't think. Hopefully ok because they did have the white stuff falling from the sky today, I think.

I told my hubs that I want a law passed that unless you want to take higher math, you shouldn't have to in school. Get you to a certain level and then let you be done.

I know very few people that actually use anything above the basic math for their jobs! My husband has always held a manger type level job and never uses anything above basic math for anything.

As long as I can count, I'm good for my job.

What time is drop off and pick ups for the children who will put you over ratio/latest am drop offs. for instance, if you have 6 (ok alone) until 9am, then you need your helper there at 9.

I would figure out when you will need the first person to start, then have like a 9-1 (through morning and lunch) and then a 1-5 (or earliest time that would put you back in ratio alone) I have two kids that go home by 3, and then am considering taking on another SA kid that would get here at 3:30 (but won't need care days off of school/summer because Mom is a teacher). I would definitely put it in their contract that you MIGHT need them to stay at x rate because of late pick up though, and the first helper has to stay until the 2nd helper arrives.

I would also have a list of things second helper can do during nap time. Clean & sanitize toys, playroom, dishes, snack prep, etc.

yes business math....both of my kids are very good at math...my son takes trig this year in the junior grade and my daughter is in the freshman year and she takes geometry. I hate to help them because I write, not math....

I am so stubborn that I won't let anyone touch my kitchen...

Maybe I will make them workout with me...hahahha

yes that is a good idea. my last drop off is at 845. So I would need someone here by 830 just to be safe. I am also going to have to become more strict on how I am allowing parents to drop off and pick up...

You and me both on the no one touches my kitchen.

I seriously don't like anyone even cleaning, helping around the house. Thats why I have such a hard time coming up with chores for my kiddo's!

:: anyone who wants to clean my kitchen is welcome to it! ::

So 8:30-1 and 1-5 or 5:30. How much are you paying per hour? I really considered expanding to group this coming spring. My thinking would be that I would have to pay someone minimum wage, and/or have ATLEAST 3 extra kids, to make any profit from hiring someone. So if expanded to group, my next 3 ft enrollments would pay for someone's salary, and then the next 3 would be profit. Not to mention the added paperwork, tax hassle, blah. I'm too lazy (and I REALLY REALLY love my quiet all alone time at nap, no kids (or some chatty adult!)

trust me when I tell you this........ I never ever wanted to be a large home daycare. I loved my small group and knowing that I always had everything covered.

here in CA you also have to have workers comp, so it took me a long time to find that and then a payroll too. So I am in the same boat. A lot more people coming in just to pay out a lot of money which I get to keep less than half. So same here 3 kids to make a profit.

I will pay $9.50 an hour
