New DCF Worries

Mom drops off this morning almost crying because she's so sad to leave her kids here. It us their 5th day. They have never been to daycare before, and they both whine when they come in the door. They are 3 and 1.5. They are fine as soon as she walks out and the door is shut. I've told her that but she says her stomach is in knots Egbert day leaving them. I sent her a pic of the girl smiling right after she left.

How so you calm mom's fears? She said she's worried they sit here and cry all day (which is not the case.) She says they have never been like this for aunts or uncles or friends.

I would give it a little more time with her. Continue sending pics and "evidence" that her kids are fine. Keep drop offs and pickups short and sweet.

And then if she cant cool it in like a month, calmly tell her " I have done my best to assure you that the children are fine. If there is something further I can do, please let me know. I did want to let you know that your continued stress and comments are making me feel that you dont trust me to care for your children. Is that the case?" then she will realize that 1. she is making a big deal over nothing and 2. you have to have trust to build a good working relationship
