Parties don't have to cost a fortune. Start with a theme - google (theme) Birthday Party and get your paper goods from a dollar store.
Bake your own cake or cupcakes, etc.
Kids like Pizza and Hot dogs for food.
I think there is another thread here with suggestions. I'll post it if I can find it.- Flag

Is there something she's really into right now that you want to go with for a theme? .
How many kids are you going to have and are they all about her age?
Will there be other adults there?
Let us know those things and I bet you'll get a TON of ideas!- Flag

My daughter just went to a "Fancy Nancy" themed girl scout activity with a neighbor girl who is a Brownie. They had a make your own crown craft where you glue jewels on a cardboard crown (which was pink), painted their fingernails at another station,(or got them painted) made ice cream sundaes, and made a little "recipe" book with recipes for homemade natural face masks, etc. Also maybe you could have a lot of accessories like feather boas, high heels, fancy tutus/dresses/hats they could take turns dressing up in and getting their picture taken. Fancy sandwiches cut into fancy shapes with big cookie cutters. Lots of pink! And sparkly decorations of course.happyface- Flag

I have never done it but what about making little tutus for the girls who attend. Maybe just using ribbon long enough to tie around their waste and pink/purple tule (sp?) tied onto it. Could be very cute take home and cheap. Girls would love it- Flag

::Sorry,I missed the Fancy Nancy right there in your title!:
:
Allebasi had some great ideas!
I know these ladies would have great ideas. I haven't read those books.
I would invite each girl to dress up in their "fanciest" clothes for the party. (dress up clothes, not real dress up clothes-wouldn't want to spill on anything too special!)
You can usually find a ton of cheap girly jewelry at the dollar store and even Walmart and Target.
You could start with a fancy tea party (have something different to drink if they don't like tea)
I'd definitely have a story time and read one of the Fancy Nancy books too!- Flag

I did a Fancy Nancy and Olivia the Pig party. Here is my blog to get some ideas.
This blog is created for those moms who have found themselves in the position of being a stay-at-home mom. Before staying home with my kids, I was a professional in the "working" world juggling both home and work and not feeling that I was doing either very successfully. After being a SAHM for over four years, I feel other SAHM can learn from my mistakes and failures. This blog will be about scrapbooking, organization, crafts, frugal ideas and my home businesses.- Flag

Oh my! I'm out of the loop! I didn't know who Fancy Nancy was!
They have a Facebook and the link to this was on it. It could be quite helpful:
It just looks to me like everything pink, pretty and girly. Fancy Nancy looks like quite the princess! LOL- Flag
