    sending out mass mailings???

I don't know if this is a crazy idea but I am thinking of sending out a flyer and my card to the people in my neighborhood. I thought of just putting them on/in mailboxes, etc. but I think you aren't really allowed to do that??? So I'm thinking of maybe mailing them. I can easily look up all the house numbers in my development (its only 3 streets - about 100 houses maybe?). Would it be worth the cost of postage??? Anyone ever try it?

The post office has great prices for bulk mailing and I can see how that would be a great idea, but why not simply take your card/flyers door to door and introduce yourself and chat a bit with each neighbor instead of using the post office?

I think that would be a better way to build your community relationships and people will remember the personal touch rather than a postcard in the mail.

I would be more inclined to give out someone's name/number if I remember seeing their face and having a quick friendly conversation with them verses seeing a flyer in my mailbox with all my bills.

My provider friend does this with good success. I hire a teenager to go put a flyer at each door (not in mailboxes!) and it works out better for me to hire her than to figure out addresses, envelopes, postage.

It is illegal do anything with anyone's mailbox. A Federal Offense even!

The local Chinese Food places attach a rubber band to their flyers and hang them from the door knobs.

Look for houses that have play stuff in the back yard.

Don't forget, Halloween will be here before you know it so use that for advertizing as well. Attach your card to the candy!
(I got that idea here on this forum!)

I can have my own child do this - just thought the mailings would be more professional.
