Have any of you seen these?

I would love to get these started in my area and not to take away from the libraries at all but its about 5 miles to our library and alot of people don't take their kids. I know it doesn't sound like far but.......

There is a place on the site that shows where they are cropping up. I was surprised how many are in my state as I had never heard of them till stumbling across the link on a facebook site.

I want to look at it more and see if I can get one going.

We don't have that but we do have what is called the Reading Machine. It is a van that comes around to area child cares, elementary schools and parks and does a story with the kids, a craft project that coincides with the story and then allows the kids to go into the van and check out books.

It has a set schedule for when it goes where. It comes to my daycare every other Tuesday at 1:30. The kids lovethis it!!!!

When my own kids were little, we did Mail-a-book, which is our local library but you just check out and return your books through the mail rather that actually going to the library.

I fully support anything that gets kids reading for fun! happyface
