Thank you. I am going to call DCM tomorrow and just ask her if she is still interested in my services. I'm going to tell her I have someone that is interested in the infant spot, which is true... well, we haven't had an interview yet, but you know what I mean. And go from there. If she says yes, I'm going to tell her I need her deposit to hold the spot and she until Thursday to bring it to me or I will be interviewing for the spot.

If she says no, then I'm going to put an ad out advertising infant care and see what happens. I know a lot of people desperately need infant care, so I'm sure I'll get someone.

Thanks again for the encouragement everyone

It always takes me a lot of effort to get things "just right" before an interview. For example I have the house all cleaned and smelling nice, make sure I don't have anything going on, get our dogs napping in a bedroom or something, even set out crayons or puzzles for the kids to do something quiet at the table during the interview if it is during dc hours. When my own kids were little I'd even make hubby take them somewhere because they somehow always embarassed me during an interview! LOL

Did you contact her? What did she say?

I called and left a message. I told her if I didn't hear from her by noon tomorrow I'd assume she was no longer interested in the spot. I think my voice was shaking. ... I get so nervous with the phone. I'm guessing if she doesn't call by 430 she's not going to. She gets out of work about 330-4. So guess I'll get my answer in about two hours

            update

Yup, she never called. and her current provider hasn't seen her this week and she was suppose to come. So, wow. I mean she could have at least talked to her current provider. But nope, nothing. I haven't heard from any of my other interviews either. Not sure what is wrong with me or my house that no one wants me!

I'm sure I'll find someone eventually but jeez!!!!

Nickel, It's not you. It is just this economy. Poeple have so many choices in child care now they can practically have their choice. There used to be waiting lists all around but not anymore. Daycares have popped up everywhere and people are out of work. Don't feel bad. They just have so many choices. Years ago I pretty much had at least a call a day and my choice of kids but now it is more like a call every month or so. You just hold on and you will fill your spots.
              Good luck and think positive.
That lady was rude not to call her current provider anyway. You do not need that.
