Little Girls and Glitter - What a Mess!!!

Great way to start Monday morning. Day care girl comes in with new clothes on, cute, but LOTS of glitter all over the shirt. Her older sister came in to drop off too, matching outfits. She goes on downstairs and I look up the steps and there is a trail of glitter all over the carpet. I go up to the foyer and it is everywhere!! What a mess! I don't think the shirts had been worn yet. She had feathers all over my house from a shirt last winter and that took days to get them all, they were flying everywhere!

I had her change to her extra set of clothes and she was NOT happy! I am sure the mother won't be happy either, but i don't need glitter all over my floors. What to tell mom so i don't sound rude, but still get the point across?????

YES!!! I think that's the style for the summer. One of my cutesy little girls has completely covered the daycare in glitter. I think I'm going to add a clause to my handbook banning clothes that shed glitter, because glitter in the eye is so not fun.

I'd just tell her its a hazard as it could get in someone's eye, and that's why you changed her. I'd just tell her to shake the clothing a few times and if glitter comes off, it can't be worn to daycare.

I have the same thing going on today! Glitter all over my couch from my dcg's shirt (or maybe from the glitter Barbie she brought today??) She also often wears a sequin skirt that leaves sequins all over the place...ugh!

I have the same thing with dcg's red glittery "Dorothy" shoes! She is 5 though so I just told her not to wear them here anymore, but of course she still does, cuz they are so PRETTY! LOL

          Ugh. How annoying!

I would simply change her out and at pick up tell mom or dad that she can't wear that shirt to daycare anymore AND to please use common sense when dressing child.

One of the biggest pet peeves I have about daycare is the ways in which parents choose to dress their children - innapropriate clothing for daycare, clothes that are way too big or way too small, wearing winter clothing in summer or summer clothing in winter. It's an issue I have ALL THE TIME, and with all my parents.

I used to think NannyD was out of her mind for providing outfits/shoes/winter gear for her daycare kids... now I'm thinking she's a genius. LOL.

you know whats worse, is when all those nice shirts get washed, all the glitter will be gone. I already can tell which shirts are good and which ones are awful. My girls have shirts that have the glitter, but its the glitter that doesn't come off.
