What Age Are The Children You Watch?

Here school is year round with two weeks off every three months. I only take full time children so I don't typically watch any children over 5. Also many people put their children in "preschool" at three around here. So all four of my daycare kids are two and under. I am just curious as to what age the children are that most of you watch!

For the most part, during the school year, I have kids 5 and under. Here they start 1/2 day kindergarten at 5, so that's usually the last year that I have them. But I much prefer the younger kids, so it works well for me:-)
However, during the school year, my clients are all teachers so once they're done for the summer, my roster fills up with school-age-summer-only kids.
I personally really like switching my rosters like this in June and September:-)

As of right now I have:
5 almost 6 week old infant girl (my own)
              A 18/19 month old boy
              A 2 yr old boy
A 2 yr old girl (two months here, 2 months at her dads)
A 4 yr old boy (April bday)
A 4 yr old boy (July bday - starting kindergarten in the fall)
A 5 yr old boy (Aug bday - starting 1st grade)
A 5 yr old boy (Sep bday - starting kinder - my own)
A 6 yr old boy (May bday - starting 1st grade)
A 7 yr old girl (May bday - starting 2nd grade)

Maybe a 9 yr old this summer, but it depends on her mom's knee surgery, I'm not expecting to see her.

I also had a 7 month old boy have his last day last Friday. He is moving out of state, on the road right now.

Hmmm... In another week or two I need to figure out their schedules and start advertising for under kinder group for the fall...

I have seven kids between ages one and four. I will have an eigth child for a few weeks this summer who I had for five years from birth to Kindy. She will be six next month.

                    2-12 mo olds
                    1- 22 month old
                    1- 30 month old
                    1 - 34 month old
                    1 - 40 month old
                    1- 48 month old

I hopefully will fill my eigth slot with a newborn. I can't live without new babies. I love them the most.

I am the oppisite! I love toddlers! I have one six month old that I have had since she was six weeks and I can't wait for her to get a little older. She is still only 12lbs and not sitting up.

Are you allowed eight? Hawaii only allows us six!

Yes my State allows highly experienced providers to have eight as long as no more than three are under 18 months. I do not have to have a staff assistant but I do during waking hours.

I've been doing this for a while

I watch three sisters on Wednesdays. Their ages are 5,4, and 2. Then I have my own two girls that are ages 11 and 15months. I didn't design it to be all girls but it can be pretty fun. I'm hoping that the baby I'm due to have in December will be a boy!

As a side note, I decided to take the three daycare girls and my own 2 girls to the zoo on the 16th so I asked my mom if she might be able to come to be an extra set of eyes. She is also bringing my eight-year-old niece who is visiting from Tennessee. My sister-in-law was also invited come with her 2-year-old daughter. That's A LOT of girls!!!!::

No I do not have staff, unless you count my 14 yr old daughter. I am a licensed family child care (in-home provider) and my license says I can have up to 10 children in my home at a time, including my own children 10yrs and under.

I don't have all of those kids every day and not all at the same time. I operate a 24/7* daycare. (*I am closed from time to time for some holidays and personal/family days.) I think my busiest day I had 10 here (before my infant girl was born, so I was rather pregnant.) However, as a few were headed home a few were just showing up. There was an overlap period for about an hour. Normally I only have at most 7 here at a time including my infant and my 5 yr old boy.
