    Morning Sickness and Daycare

I need some help on how I'm going to continue my business while in the throws of crazy morning sickness This weekend we had a long weekend and I got out of bed for maybe a few hours each day I'm so nauseated.

I'm feeling very stressed and depressed about it and part of me is wondering why I chose to get pg right now.

How did you get through it?

Whenever I get pregnant (third pregnancy while doing daycare), I find the best idea is to crack down on the finances/bills and downsize as much as possible with the number of kids. Any problem parents or children will be 100x worse when you are pregnant, ill and hormonal.

After that, wake up early and take the time to do whatever you have to get in shape before you parents get there.

As soon as the DC kids leave, my DH then takes over my kids and I also immediately rest and take a break. Sometimes I end up doing nothing the whole evening but if this is what it takes to get me thru the next day, so be it.

Streamline your home so that meals are fast, everyone else is chipping in and you are not overdoing it with too many other activities and errands. Slow your life WAY down.

Figure out what helps for the morning sickness and other aches and pains of pregnancy. Right now I drink water constantly and wear Sea Bands constantly. That is the only thing that takes me thru the day.

Are there specific issues you need help with? If it is just morning sickness, there is not a whole lot you can do besides wait it out, as unhelpful as that sounds. I know people swear by eating crackers, Preggie pops and other things so you can google or post for specific ideas.

Talk to your Dr.if it's that bad. There are safe ways to drastically cut back on nausea. I hope you're doing better soon, that's no fun at all

It hasn't been very long at all since I was going through the same thing - just a few months ago. I ended up going to the Dr. and getting a prescription for Zofran, after following the advice from some ladies here - and it really, REALLY helped. Also, I found that my prenatal vitamins were actually making it worse, so I stopped those and started taking children's vitamins (I do the Flintstone ones even now).

Fresh air helps too. Keep a window open if you can and hang out around that, set up a fan to blow on your face, or go outside a lot.

I also highly recommend Ginger ale and Gatorade - it seemed like the nausea was worse if I let myself get dehydrated, so I sipped on both of those constantly.

Eat ANYTHING that you feel that you can keep down, no matter what time it is. Small amounts throughout the day is best. If the kids ask, just say your tummy is hurting. I ate nothing but saltines and mashed potatoes for the first 14 weeks and ended up losing ten pounds, so I can definitely sympathize.

So sorry that you're going through this, Ariana - but hopefully there's a light at the end of your tunnel - mine was much more tolerable by 10 weeks and is totally gone now, and has been for a long while.

Hang in there, it will be over soon!

I have Preggie pops, and I eat a ton. The more I eat, the less morning sickness I have. It was like that with all of my pregnancies. Eat crackers before you get up in the morning. Chew on some ginger. Have toast and eggs for breakfast. Have a mid morning snack, anything to keep your stomach full so those nausea hormones can't remind you that you feel ill.

              Good luck!

Thank you ladies for being so helpful and understanding! Sometimes it just helps to know others have been there and made it through

I'm currently taking Diclectin from my DR and although it's helping I increased my dose last night and the fact that I'm on the internet at 9am is a BIG improvement already. I also made a huge grocery list of possible things to try like lemonade, sour candy etc. the major side effect of the Diclectin is drowsiness so I need to build my tolerance up to it. I was taking 4 pills a day with my last pg.

My DH has been a Godsend for me. He has completely taken over everything and is taking really good care of me. I've contacted the parents to let them know that he will be opening the daycare in the mornings so that I can sleep in a little and they were all very understanding. I just gotta do whatever it takes. Hopefully this is over soon.

                Thanks ladies
