    Invited Over For Coffee?!

I have a DCG who is 2 and I've been having some issues with her. (I had to call the mom this week to come get her etc) I wrote another thread on it for those who didn't read it.

Anyway the mom came to pick her up yesterday and invited my family over for coffee this weekend to discuss what's going on and to see how we can resolve the issues.

I don't know what to do!! Has this ever happened to anyone? I'm going to be brutally honest about things (in a polite way of course) but I feel weird about going to their home like it's a parent/teacher conference or something. I'm not sure how I'm gonna break it to them that their DD isn't fitting in with us and that I'm not going to be taking their son in the fall

I'm pregnant, sick as a dog at the moment and now this!!

do it...I think it's a wonderful idea. It IS a parent teacher conference, for the most part.

Maybe you can leave on friendly terms this way???

I would have something at YOUR house assuming you want to at least give things one more try. Otherwise, decline and hand her the term notice.

I've had parent meetings before and I prefer to have them at my house. In one circumstance did I have to go to the families home. I like it better in my home though. Do what you need to do, but don't go into anything being uncomfortable about it.

I guess part of it for me is that I wish I could see each of my kids in their own environment once. It would give me such insight!

This is what I was thinking as well. If they come here it will just be me taking over and not seeing them parent. And honestly I don't have the energy to clean up and prepare for a visit from them

These people are so darn nice it's making it really hard for me to just term this little girl. They really want to help her here and I feel like I'm just giving up.

Not only that, you can leave when ever you feel like it If the conversation isn't going the way it should be, or you find yourself saying the same things over and over, you can just get up and leave, no worries about how to get them out of the house!
