I have a 3.5 yr old DCG who says my name NON STOP all day long. It's like a running narrative where she is constantly talking to me and telling me a play by play of what she's doing.
dcg: Ariana I found a pink bird
me:nice
dcg: Ariana I like oranges
me: That's nice, me too
dcg: Ariana I wonder what lunch is today
ETC ETC. This went on so much yesterday that I finally told her to only say my name if she had something important to tell me. I feel terrible but she's driving me batty!! Most of the time I ignore her but it doesn't help. Sometimes I'm not even in the room and she's saying it! Her parents are seperated but living in the same house and will soon be divorced. I feel like this is stemming from that?
What is up with this behavior? nervous tick?
