so i want to raise my price for a dcp i only charge her $70 a week and this parent sometimes drops off early and changes schedule on me she brings her child 30 hours a week anyway i wanna tell her started next month my fee will go up to $85 a week for the 27-30 hours she comes. i told my husband and he is not supportive of this!!!! i have 3 kids in care right now so he's scared ill lose her, he says i should wait til i get more kids but i cant take this! i put up with her so i feel i deserve to raise the fee up, right???

Could you raise the rate by $5.00 per week? That is a $20.00 to $25.00 increase which will make you happy and I doubt you will lose her over that.

I've just encountered a similar problem.. I went ahead and raised the rate and it went ok.
What are other providers near you charging? If it's more than 85 I wouldn't worry.

raise it to 75 but tell her if she needs to come early or do schedule changes it will go up to 85 like everyone else.

I would then raise again in 6 months another 5 or 10 a week.
