I started my CDA classes yesterday and OMG!!!!!! This is definately NOTHING to sneeze at! Im excited and scared anyone else taking or has already taken their classes and tested? How was it for you I feel like a deer in headlights!!!
I am about half way though classes for mine. It's not so bad, other then making sure you have all the resources you are supposed to and the portfolio set up correctly.
I just got mine in November or December. All the way through I kept over-thinking everything. Just keep up with the required reading and make sure you understand it, and keep up with the portfolio assignments. They really aren't that difficult (now that it's over I say that!), but really, I am not "college material", but I the assignments weren't that hard for me, it was the competency Goal papers we wrote that I stressed most over (if I remember right, they only wanted 250-500 words for each goal, so it shouldn't have been a big deal for me. It was just one page for each). Since I had once weekly classes to attend, the intstructor explained everything really well, and made sure we all understood, checked our work to make sure we were on the right track, gave tips for improving it, etc. She was more like a mentor, just wanting to help us do our best, and I figure the other instructors would be of the same mind-frame. If you have any questions, or need help throughout the process, feel free to PM me. I could tell what I used for some of the portfolio assignments, also, when you come to them, if you need ideas. Are you doing Family Childcare focus? Do you already plan daily lesson plans for your group of children (if so, this will be much easier for you, since most of the assignments have to do with daily curriculum plans). Oh and don't worry about the testing part. That was the easiest part of all. All you need for it is to have read your book and have basic common sense .

I am taking actual classes also it wasj ust more than what I thought it was going to be LOTS of information.
Too bad you don't have my instructor... I loved going to class every week. Infact, I miss it! haha After the very first one, I was so excited about the CDA process. Well, the classes part of it . The rest of the process of getting a CDA had me a little nervous.
Is yours a formal or informal CDA class? Mine was informal.
oh i love my classes and im only two in! its as informal as i could expect the teacher is a very nice woman. i really do enjoy it its just not what i thought it was going to be lmbo!
