When I do quit and close up shop it will NEVER be because of the kids. It will be because of the parents and the attitudes that are now becoming the norm for society.

I really think that there is a lot of trail and error in this business. Even though there is a ton of great advice on here from lots of great seasoned providers, sometimes it just takes making the mistake to finally figure it out.

I have been walked all over for years and years until I came here.

I have learned so much from here and it has really helped my backbone.

This business is hard because you work alone. No one to help you with your skills or evaluate you to tell you taht you did it wrong. No one to brainstorm with or problem solve. This is why I come here. Husbands get tired of hearing it too, which I always felt I had no one to turn to when I felt down and out. But like I said, coming here has really helped.

Sometimes you just need to make a few mistakes so that you know what YOU DONT want. Don't have regrets about making them, we are human. Just make sure that you realize you made one, fix it and move forward.

I think what I was really doing wrong was picking the wrong families, looking at the money, not the quality of parents or kids. By nature most of us providers are people pleasers and want to please everyone so we get taken advantage of in the process.

You have to start at step 1, (your PHB and policies) review them over and over and over until they are drilled into your head. DO you need to add anything, make any changes etc.

How are you currently doing your interviewing? Remember it's phone interview first, then if you feel they are a possibility you move on to face to face tour at your home.

I think that once you learn to interview for what you want, you will be very happy. YOu will learn to choose the RIGHT people for your services.

It took me a long time to learn to interview, because I made the mistake of taking any family that wanted in. Then I put up with it for years, therefore I didnt have the chance to interview much and get good at it..

The recipe takes several things to get good at this biz, and I am sure you will do great in no time...

Keep coming here for advice, lots of great people on here to offer it to you

This is why I am quitting. I do not have the patience to train new parents.
