I just had a family that did this same exact thing- was on maternity for 8 weeks. They had decided to keep the little boy in daycare the entire time, she was off!! They brought him at the same exact time and picked him up the same exact time everyday, like she was working. I told them, they could drop back to a 3 day min. and be charged $50.00 less each week. They didn't want to take this route at all.
To me I can see it both ways- keep child home, let them get used to the baby being there(this little boy was terrible I guess, when he came home from daycare, very jealous of baby, etc...)
They are paying for my services, so they were going to use everyday, 9 1/2 hrs. each day like usual!!

It is so sad isnt it, Dont they realize that they are the ones that created the jealousy? How do you think a little boy who loves his mommy feels after this scenerio.

      Everyday...
Boy - Mommy I dont want you to go to daycare
Mommy - But I have to so we can have a nice house, and you can have nice things like clothes and toys.

Then baby comes. And mommy doesnt have to go to work for this baby and doesnt let me stay home.

I think sending a kid to daycare can just exacerbate the jeoulsy and behavior problems. Plus what are you telling the child. You miss behave, you go to daycare.

With that said though. I am a business owner and to make money, not to watch children of parents who have the same moral standards and philosphies as I do. If that was the case, I would require a full neuropsych evaluation, back ground check, biography, multi hour observation of their house and how it is ran and 40 page questionaire from all prosepective families.

If they ask my opinion, I will gladly give it. Otherwise, I will happily take your check.
