    Hanging Pictures...Decorating Help

    Good Morning,

I also posted under the "off topic forum" but I know we have more eyes here!

Long story short... purchase our first home last Aug and now I'm ready to start decorating.

How do you hang pictures without destroying the walls?

    Thanks for any advice!

Actually, I think most people hit the "new posts" or "today's posts" tab.

Both of your post's are listed one after the other on my page.....

The only difference would be that unregistered users can't see the "off topic" section at all.
    - Unless otherwise stated, all my posts are personal opinion and worth what you paid for them.

I've seen this on TV, but I have not used it so I can't say whether it's any good or not: https://www.instahang.com/

I have an old house with plenty of patch marks already, so I just hang things the old fashioned way.

I use ONLY nails or screws in STUDS, and hang the pictures with wire. Nail and screw holes are very easy to fix, and I have never found any picture hanging system that has not eventually allowed my picture to fall on the floor and break the glass.

The trick is to save some of the original wall paint for covering the patches if you decide to move a picture.

I swear by those 3M Velcro picture hangers! They are a bit expensive, but so great... Ecspecially in kids rooms where you may switch art more often as they grow.

Gorilla hooks. Love 'em. They only leave a tiny pin size hole.
