    Is S/A worth it?

    2 Questions:

    1. I have kids ages 1-4. Is it worth it to pick up a few after school kids for $10.00 a day? I do not need the money, but the extra would be nice.

    2. What do you charge for full time S/A in the summertime?

Just looking for your experiences with S/A before I advertise.

    Thanks in advance!!

Personally, I won't sign SAers unless they have been with me from infancy. I'm not such a big fan of that age group and the work it involves. I much prefer my fulltime toddlers/preschoolers. But, I only have 5 spots to fill, so to make good money I need to fill them with fulltimers. If I could have more children or didn't need so much income then I could afford to maybe.

In my area a f/t spot is $35/day. B&A care is $20/day. Age of the child doesn't change these prices because, like I said, we only get 5 spots per dayhome. So a SAer in the summer would still be $35/day. I might even raise it because of how much more a SAer would eat, and probably use more supplies too. Just some thoughts off the top of my head.
