My first dck was 6 months old. I did the whole care sheet thing for her. Mom would barely glance at it and most of the time she left it on the table. After a month or so, I just asked her if she wanted me to keep writing this out for her-I didn't mind, but wanted to check. She said it wasn't necessary--she trusted me enough to leave her baby, I didn't need to document it. So I quit. When the baby moved up to solid foods I started it again, just writing what she ate. I thought it was a good way for mom to see what she was eating, to make sure everything was balanced. We did it about a month, then stopped.

I never bothered with the other kids, but they were almost 1 when they started. I posted the menu for the day (which isn't required) but no one ever bothered to look at it, so I stopped that.

I order them from Funshine Express...I do one for every kid until they hit school age full time. I know there are some people who don't read them, I have one mom that I don't do it for, but she is also the mom who can't figure out her schedule, can't pay me on time, and only feeds her 17 month old crap. So, I am not surprised she doesn't read them.

I know that I could print them up but at 4.3 cents per sheet (not purchased in bulk) it seems worth it. Again, I know I could print them up but it seems worth it to save my ink for something else I need to print!

            Infant feeding chart

Hi! New here. Just started in an infant room and we desperately need a system where we can glance up at a board and see who needs changing and feeding and when. What I need is the form. We would use a dry erase board and, of course the layout. Thanks!

I have one in excel that squeezes 5 (yes! 5!) reports on 1 sheet of paper. I can pm it to you if you like. It has a grid for changes, another for feedings, and a third for naps, plus a comments section. My baby parents love them. Just send a pm if you want it!

I bought packs of forms when I first started and only used two or three sheets, all the parents I have worked for, only care to know at what time the last feeding was

I use long sheets (3 cut per sheet of paper) and have blu-tac up on the cabinets (diaper changing and sink is all there). That way they are all hanging and at a glance. I'm not sure where to find an image of the sheets we use, but they have this info:

                            Arrival Time: Date:

                            Name:

                            Teachers:

                            Today I ate:

(about 10 lines to fill in food/drink and amount consumed)

                            Diapers:
(several lines to note time and W/BM/dry at diaper check)

Next to the diapers is Naps:
Several lines to note start and end times of each nap

                            Things I need:
                            (to write down supplies needed)

I also write down what we did each day on a dry erase board plus general important info on another. I fill up my bins and ask for supplies about eery other day, but I try to ask on fridays if I will need supplies sometime during the next week.

When I worked in a center many years ago this was our recoding system:

In the morning lead teacher would post a form on the wall for each child. Printed form included slots for diaper times, eating and comments on mood for the day.

As each teacher tended to a child we jotted down the info in the sheet during the day.

At the end of the day when the parent picked up they took the sheet home with the info that we had recorded that day.

                              Worked seamlessly for us!

You guys are awesome for all your effort!

I gave up on reports YEARS ago. The parents never, ever read them. They end up on the floor of their cars, in my driveway etc.

I tell parents at pick up when the last feeding was for a baby. If they want to know about diaper changing...they'll ask. Never had one ask though. They just bring more diapers for my supply when I write "more please" on their child's go home diaper.

Writing down 16 daily reports would drive me seriously insane. I can cover it in seconds at the door as we say goodbye.
