What Is It With The Bouncing?

Why do some babies have to be bounced constantly? Is it a sign that they are hurting or is it a weird sensory thing? Man, I am tired.

my son who is now 15 was like that when he was a baby. I think it was because I am a runner and when he was in the belly I ran 5+ miles daily....

If I stopped bouncing him, he started screaming.

Look at the positive side of it...you'll get a nice set of legs and a back side from it if you do it long enough....

well most babies like motion anyway because it mimics the womb. Some babies really enjoy bouncing, swinging or swaying....any movement. It just soothes them. However, it is important for daycare babies to wean off of that since it is not a possibility long term to provide that. I don't have a problem with my teeny-tiny babies needing that but about 4 to 6 months, we start weaning off motion.
