    Inmates At Work...Really?

Okay so I know that the inmates get out and work and I know they wouldn't get too farnwith two armed guards watching them, but still...didnthe dept of corrections have to out their big inmates working sign right at MY DRIVEWAY?? They pulled their inmate bus over right in my driveway, blocking the whole thing off as I'm expecting a parent any minute, I open the door to see what's happening bc my dogs are going nuts and I see the sign they out out not ten feet from my DAYCARE business sign, seriously? You all couldn't have pulled over further up the road and out your sign out?

They had to put it right at my driveway near my obvious daycare home and think that it's ok and not inconsiderate? Of course asbinopen the door, the guard is going to get back on the bus and in yell out "really? At a daycare." not that he heard ne but he may have, then they drove on further up the road I'm assuming they would be working their way back this way so we didn't go out atnour normal morning time, I'm sorry but I don't like it.

First thing my dcm says is commenting on the inmates working sign as she pulled in..ugh,mshe knows I can't help it and that they need to do it but still..they picked the one spot where there is a daycare with a sign (there is another one the nxt rdndown from me past the sign and another a mile from menthe other way, they pickedndaycare land to set up in but at least those two aren't obvious daycare homes!!!) what in the world?

The dogs went nuts again about an hour ago and they were out front cleaning the ditch and then headed back the other way. I hope they will be moving along soon and taking their sign with them bc I really wanted to go pull it up...I may have if I didn't have small children to take care of, or at the very least asked them to put their sign further down the road!

Onenof the guys found something in my ditch that he had to throw to the guard who picked it up,mlooked at it andnput it in his pocket..I'm like what the heck did you findnin my ditch???

I know it's aggravating. If it's any comfort, the road crews are usually the ones who are the mildest offenders. I worked at the county jail for 17 years. Our road crew was made up of guys who didn't pay child support or pay speeding tickets, guys who wrote hot checks. Minor stuff. An inmate who had any history of aggression was never allowed on the road crew. Don't quote me on this, but I'm thinking that they didn't even allow the DWI's on the road crew. I can't speak to where you live, but in our county, it's a pretty strict protocol.

Regardless, I hope they leave soon.

There might be some kind of law about the imnates being within a certain amount of feet of a school or daycare. You could call the police department and ask if there is any such law and see if you can get them to move further down the road.

As far as whatever they found in your ditch, if you own your house any property, the item they found in your ditch is your property. You could go and demand that they return your property to you.

I would call to let them know your address and that it is pretty inappropriate for that to be happening right there. You would think there is a law, what if one of the men had a sex offender issue?? sorry your parents had to see it!

I agree, couldn't see what it was though and most likely maybe was anjagged metal piece they weren't supposed to out innthe trash bag due to them making a weapon from it,idk but I can't leave the house so I'm not able to say anything to them directly as far as the guards w the dept of corrections but still, you would think that they would have better common sense than that. I may call the dept of corrections though and inquire or out local pd. There are no noise ordinances around here so our neighbors can playnloud music all day and late at night so I doubt there is a law against it and if there is, they prolly wouldn't even know it.

Reminds me of the time we noticed something two houses up from ours. Police tape across the street, alot of unmarked cars, police cars, men dressed in black with helmets, vests, and guns!!!! Come to find out there was a guy holed up in his apartment with a bunch of guns threatening things and they had to call out the swat team. Luckily it was the weekend but we were expecting friends over for my daughters birthday. Everything ws done and cleaned up by the time they got there but what if it had been during daycare! Wow!!!!

LOL..I'm not sure I'd go out to convicted felons and demand my piece of jagged metal back.

"I saw ya'll take my shank.. I want it back right now!"
