I'm Getting Old.....

Recently a few people have asked how long I have been a day care provider. I have been cheerfully say "about 25 years"

My 27 year old son smiled and patted me on the head (he's 6'4"...I'm 5"1")) and said "Mom...when did you start to do day care?"

Me: "When you were born"

Son: "How old am I Mom?"

Me: 27. Oh..........

There is no hope for me. All my years at child care have made it impossible to count past 10.......and I have a hard time SAYING the alphabet as it's more natural to sing it..... ::::

I got a late start, but I'm with ya! I'm 52 and started two years ago.

I caught myself one day saying "moan" for come on LOL.

I tell people I've had a baby on my hip since I was 12, 45 years ago.

I started babysitting for the families in our neighborhood at 12. As a teenager, I always had a neighbor kid with me. In college, I had my gf's daughter live with me because my friend was ill. Even after getting married, I had a gf's daughter M-F during the summers. I had a foster daughter during the time I worked when my own kids were little.
