    Part Time care rates?

I recieved an email for infant care this morning on a part time basis. Mom works 3 days on and 3 days off so she said between her schedule and her husbands schedule the baby would be here 3-4 days per week. Do you charge a flat weekly fee for part time or per day? I usually charge $125 for full time if that helps!!

    Thank you!

Since the days are going to change she would pay a FT rate with me and give me their schedule a week in advance.

I charge a few dollars more for less than 5 days of care, minimum of 3 days per week.

Glad I asked or I would have charged a lot less.

With a changing schedule you can't fill the days they don't use so you lose out. They chose their professions and to have children so it's not your responsibility to provide care that benefits them and hurts you financially. That's how I see it anyway.

                  Are they long days?

If you are getting close to the 40 hour range in 4 days, it's a full time rate.

I'd just charge them for full time. It's not like you can get someone to come in and occupy the time he/she's not going to be there.
