    Daycare provider gift ideas

My son's last day at daycare is today. My daycare officially starts tomorrow happyface I would like to get his provider a gift to say thanks for taking such great care of my boy for the last 6 months. I was thinking a gift card for a pedicure. Any other ideas? She just announced that she is pregnant and already has a 3 yo and a 7 mo so I think she could use a little relaxing time to herself!

My son was with his former provider from the time he was born until we moved out of state. It wasn't quite 3 years. She was his second mom, as he spent just as much awake time with her as he did with me. I put together a scrapbook, a very sincere thank you letter, and cash.
Give a little love to a child, and you get a great deal back.

LOL maybe they think you need the wine to get through the week with your week.

I think it is always the thought the counts...a nice card of appreciation and something like you said she wouldn't buy her self. Everyone says cash, which is great but then it is usually spent elsewhere either Bills, the family ect and not on the person. I would love a spa gift certificate to pamper myself.

yes it is the thought that counts... I too would LOVE a certificate to a spa or salon.. and by the looks of my crazy frizzy hair, you would think everyone would get me one of those....

Gift cards are great! Spa would be my top choice, but dinner out is good too.

A parent once got me a gift card for a mani/pedi, it was by far my favorite gift over the years. So nice to feel appreciated, and know that you are doing a great job.

              Very thoughtful of you.

One of my favorite gifts ever was a box of 1000 post it notes - personalized with my daycare name and logo. Another favorite was when all the families went together and bought me a hockey jersey of my favorite player (I am a big hockey fan!). Many get me gift certificates to my nail salon. A photo mousepad of a group photo from one of our field trips. A handmade door hanger that says 'Daycare Sweet Daycare'. A clock that was personalized with photos of different daycare get togethers. Handwritten notes of thanks and appreciation in cards made by the kids. A giant coffee mug, chosen because "Meem LOVES coffee, mom!"

All of these are past favorites that come to mind, but mostly what I appreciate is the thoughtfulness that was shown in the choosing.

I'm sure your provider will appreciate whatever you choose to give
