    Fruit Smoothy

I have a 2 year old that drinks a Magic Bullet full of fruit smoothy every morning before coming to me. I don't have a Magic Bullet so I don't know the exact size but I think that's a bit excessive. I know it's natural sugar and all but the kid is bouncing off the walls every morning. Is it bad of me to say something to Mom?

I wouldn't, she could be eating Poptarts. Or Capri sun.

I agree I wouldn't say anything. Would rather it be fruit than donuts or something.

Nothing wrong with fruit smoothies! she likely makes it with milk so there's protein and calcium in there too. Could his being hyper be something else?

One of my concerns is that this kid could live on fruit, there are many days that he won't eat much or anything here all day. He is offered breakfast, snack, lunch, and snack but I don't dole out fruit all day. If they eat or at learn try the main part of the meal I will break out the bananas or whatever but I don't start with that.

Mom has told me many times that he doesn't eat much at home either BUT she confessed to me yesterday that she just took his bottle away over Thanksgiving ( he is 2 1/2) and WEIGHS almost 50 pounds. He doesn't have a room of his own at home, he sleeps in Mom and Dads room (long story) so every time he would make a peep in the night he was getting a bottle of milk.

Well it sounds like the fruit smoothie is the least of the problems! his meals are clearly being replaced by milk at home.

2.5 and 50 pounds? Thats pretty large isn't it? My nearly 2.5 yr old is only 24 lbs!!
